Artist's Comments

I actually watched this little guy chase this gnat down. I was gonna take a video, but I went for the still shots instead =D These little spiders (about 6 mm long) always have the coolest colors reflected in their eyes :wow:

FULL VIEW is highly recommended!

Please tell me what you think!

Was it for this my life I sought?
Maybe so and maybe not

It's a jumping spider, right?

That's an awesome picture. I love photos that have spiders eating.

Go spider :#1:

I hate gnats.
Mmmmmm! Gnats good! :hungry:

This appeals to the more macabre side of me :D I like it! :+fav:

It might be a bit too macro. I don't know how to explain it. There seems to be a little circle that is perfectly focused; the head, eyes and parts of the legs are finely focused then it softens around farther back and the gnat seems pretty soft, too.

Just take my comments with a grain of salt. I know not of what I speak :D

It's great work  Much better than I could do because the spider would be nothing more than an amorphous blotch from me squishing it :fear:

:w00t: Be JOYOUS!!! Sieze a friend and lick 'em!
Yup, he sure is! That's how he caught the gnat

Yeah I know what your describing  You mean it has a shallow depth of field (a very small portion of it is sharp and the rest seems soft). That tends to happen with this eye-level perspective. It's the only way to see the spiders face instead of a bird's eye view of his back =D But I'll take what I can get, to me a shot of his finely focused head is better than a shot of his fully focused back :)
Thanks for your comment, I really enjoy reading them ;)
